Plumbers

As we see it, the two primary forms of Support/Counselling are face-to-face and telephone. Clients tend to be directed towards telephone support in the first instance and still have to wait an inordinate amount of time just to get so far as to have a review.
The thing is, these types of Counselling don’t work for all.
Telephone Counselling is very impersonal and there is obviously no face-to-face communication. For all you know, the person on the end of the line could be making themselves a brew whilst speaking with you (they probably wouldn’t be, but you get what we mean….)
A massive part of Therapy is facial expressions and body language and being able to connect with your Counsellor. This just isn’t easy via a telephone conversation.
It is practically impossible to ‘meet someone’ for the first time over the telephone and feel comfortable enough with them to delve into your life and open up as to what you are feeling and experiencing.
Face to Face Counselling is fantastic and the best way to undertake any form of Therapy. You can form a bond with your counsellor, you can learn to trust them and also trust yourself. The downside to ‘in-person’ face-to-face counselling is that it is time-consuming.
You have to travel to the Therapist – costing you time and money.
